Type: 80:20 indica:sativa
Ancestry: Blueberry (indica) and Cheese (hybrid)
Creators: Big Budda Seeds, who are also behind Cheese, a UK native which is a Skunk #1 phenotype. However, Barney’s Farm and Royal Queen Seeds, both based in the Netherlands, developed their own takes on Blue Cheese.
THC Content: 15-20%
Terpenes: terpinolene, caryophyllene, limonene, myrcene, pinene
Appearance: Sticky, dense buds sprinkled with trichomes, with tightly wound flowers that seem to span the entire green palette, interlaced with sandy and copper pistils.
Aroma and Taste: A mouth-watering interplay between cheese and blueberries. The blueberry sweetness takes over upon combustion and especially inhalation, whereas the exhale leaves a sour, musky aftertaste.
Recreational Effects
Blue Cheese is one of the gentlest heavy-hitting strains one could hope for. In fact, it’s not really that heavy-hitting to begin with, let alone a one-toke knock-out artist like other indica-dominant strains, but what it “lacks” in strength, it makes up for in precision, balance, and intelligence, so to speak.
Blue Cheese doesn’t engulf you in the signature indica thick, sticky haze. On the contrary, the relaxation is like aerated chocolate, light, gentle, bubbly, sweet, but not overwhelming, almost sensual. The effects are very gradual, and as your body becomes increasingly floatier and loose, your mind follows to a state of mild and clear-headed euphoria, joy, and bliss. In moderation, this strain doesn’t even produce couchlock, and because of its uncharacteristic and very balanced set of attributes, it’s one of the few indica-dominant strains that can be enjoyed even during the day.
The sweet relaxation and bubbliness that trickle through the body and mind also make Blue Cheese quite the aphrodisiac.
Medicinal Benefits
Blue Cheese is a great and very rare option for people who want to ward off anxiety and depression during the day without having to practically knock themselves out or render their mind numb.
Uncharacteristically of indicas, it can also help people who struggle with retaining focus.
Blue Cheese will also make you crave actual cheese and everything and anything else you have lying around, so those with a lack of appetite should definitely give it a go.
